My Diagnosis

Diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Dementia (EOAD). Now they have ramped it up to Progressive EOAD.

My wife believes that since they have ruled out that I am a carrier of the gene, it must be the years and years of uncontrolled hypertension. It is something I still battle, however it is much better.

Some think its because I use nose spray.....a lot of nose spray and for most of my adult life.

There is a chance that things were going wrong with me nearly 10 years before the diagnosis: having trouble reading and with comprehension, trouble writing, losing things. I had a special relationship with the locksmith as I regularly locked keys in vehicles.

Still losing things, lost a lot of tools, lost my way and then they began making me lists. Then I would lose the lists.

Today I have trouble making change and can never tell you what day of the week or month it is. Some days are clearer than others. I am not as depressed about things.

Applied for Social Security Disability and received my benefits in 51 days. Heck, they knew I was messed up.

Hunted one time in 2008 and would like to go fishing if I could get any of my old buddies to take me.
